About the role

This position is in the Tire and Battery Center (TBC) at Sam’s Club, focusing on maintaining safety, organization, and member service on the sales floor while driving sales and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains facility and sales floor safety by adhering to all safety policies and procedures, including conducting regular safety sweeps, following proper forklift and hazardous material handling requirements, complying with company steel standards, and promptly correcting or reporting unsafe situations.
  • Ensures the TBC sales floor is organized, stocked, zoned, and merchandised according to company policies, including proper handling of claims, returns, shrink, and damages.
  • Presents and maintains merchandise by stocking, setting up, cleaning, and organizing product displays, removing damaged goods, signing and pricing merchandise appropriately, and securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise.
  • Monitors tire and battery orders daily, assists members with installation appointments, communicates lead time changes or cancellations, and provides alternative suggestions for installation or tire fitments.
  • Assists members with tire maintenance and repair services, providing expert recommendations by identifying member needs, explaining warranties, and ensuring the best service and value.
  • Drives sales and service excellence by communicating the value of TBC merchandise and services and collaborating with associates to promote member awareness of TBC offerings.
  • Triages and prioritizes service workflow in TBC service bays, demonstrating awareness of service queue status, time requirements, and reprioritizing to maximize efficiency.
  • Operates TBC equipment safely, completes vehicle service requests and tests, and handles the receipt, storage, and disposal of merchandise and supplies.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of safety and compliance protocols, industry guidelines, service standards, equipment operations, TPMS, product specifications, and selling techniques.
  • Leverages technology to enhance operations and engagement using digital tools and handheld devices for sales planning, service improvement, and real-time business decisions.
  • Serves as a brand advocate by modeling high-quality service, developing and influencing team members, and assisting in training.
  • Operates point-of-sale systems, processes member purchases, assists with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges, and follows procedures to prevent shrink.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity, using resources like the Open Door Policy to execute business processes.
  • Completes work assignments and priorities by collaborating with managers and team members, adapting to change, and identifying improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.
  • 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the auto service industry.
  • Retail experience.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 to $31.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage for the job location. Additional premiums may apply in specific circumstances, ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
