About the role
As a Tire and Battery Center (TBC) associate, you will maintain facility and sales floor safety, ensure merchandise presentation, assist members with tire and battery services, and drive sales and service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Maintain facility and sales floor safety by adhering to all safety policies and procedures, conducting safety sweeps, following forklift and hazardous material handling requirements, complying with company steel standards, and reporting unsafe situations.
- Ensure the TBC sales floor is organized, stocked, zoned, and merchandised according to company policies, including handling claims, returns, shrink, and damages.
- Stock merchandise, set up and organize product displays, remove damaged goods, sign and price merchandise, and secure fragile and high-shrink items.
- Monitor tire and battery orders daily, assist members with installation appointments, communicate lead time changes or cancellations, and suggest alternatives for tire fitments.
- Assist members with tire maintenance and repair services, providing expert recommendations using Sam’s Garage, product knowledge, and reference materials.
- Drive sales by communicating the value of TBC merchandise and services, collaborating with associates to promote member awareness of TBC offerings.
- Triage and prioritize service workflow in TBC service bays, understanding time requirements for services and re-prioritizing appointments to maximize efficiency.
- Operate TBC equipment safely, complete vehicle service requests and tests, and handle the receipt, storage, and disposal of merchandise and supplies.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety protocols, industry guidelines, service standards, TPMS, product specifications, and selling techniques.
- Leverage technology to enhance operations, using digital tools and handheld devices for sales planning, service improvements, and real-time business decisions.
- Serve as a brand advocate by modeling high-quality service, developing team members, and assisting in training.
- Operate cash registers, process member purchases, and assist with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges using appropriate procedures.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity, using the Open Door Policy when needed.
- Complete work assignments by collaborating with managers, co-workers, and customers, identifying priorities, and adapting to feedback.
- Follow TBC safety and security guidelines, provide accurate information to members, and report complaints or hazards.
- Use Point-of-Sale systems to prevent shrink, assist members with transactions, and report issues.

Requirements
- Valid state-issued driver’s license.
- 18 years of age or older.

- Experience in the auto service industry.

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $20.00 to $28.00. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the minimum wage for the job location. Additional premiums may apply based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed, ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour.
