The Senior Manager, Software Engineering leads platform-level execution of software and AI/ML systems, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and roadmap milestones. About the team
The Commerce team develops and maintains multiple back-end codebases supporting digital goods purchases on Vizio OS TVs, including subscriptions, rentals, and purchases. This platform integrates third-party services to deliver scalable, reliable solutions aligned with strategic priorities and roadmap milestones. The team collaborates across functions to drive continuous improvement through effective project and stakeholder management. Leveraging expertise in cloud-native architecture, DevOps, and software product management, the team ensures high-quality delivery and operational excellence while focusing on innovation and alignment with business goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead platform-level execution of software and AI/ML systems, ensuring alignment with domain priorities and roadmap milestones.
- Oversee shared infrastructure, tooling, and frameworks to support scalable, secure development and seamless system integration.
- Drive full software development lifecycle across teams, championing DevOps architecture, CI/CD practices, and cloud cost optimization.
- Collaborate with product, data science, and engineering teams to deliver AI-integrated features and intelligent automation.
- Mentor engineers, promote technical quality, and guide architectural decisions to ensure maintainability and performance.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, track operational metrics, and ensure timely delivery of complex technical initiatives.
Requirements
- Extensive experience leading platform engineering and software development lifecycle across multiple teams.
- Proven expertise in DevOps architecture, CI/CD practices, and cloud financial management to optimize delivery and costs.
- Strong skills in project and stakeholder management, ensuring alignment with strategic roadmaps and milestone tracking.
- Demonstrated ability to guide architectural reviews and system design for scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions.
- Proficiency in integrating AI/ML technologies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative products.
- Commitment to mentoring engineers and fostering technical excellence through rigorous testing and code quality standards.
- Effective communication skills to manage complex initiatives and build collaborative relationships across teams.
Qualifications
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. 2 years’ supervisory experience.
- Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area (preferred).

Pay
Irvine, California: The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00.
Dallas, Texas: The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00.
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include stock.
