Location & Commitments

Full-time role based at our Greenville Urgent Care location.

• Monday–Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Weekends: 7:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
• Early and late hours required.
• Overtime may be required to ensure patients are cared for, tasks are completed, and calls are returned in a timely manner.

Reports to Clinical Supervisor, Location Manager, and Director of Operations.

About the Role

Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Directs and coordinates all nursing care based on established clinical practices under the direction of a physician or RN, within the framework of office policies and procedures for the Clinical Department.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers during office visits, physical exams, and in-office procedures.
• Prep exam rooms for clinical procedures and assist practitioners with patient care.
• Perform accurate measurement of vital signs, including orthostatic blood pressure, temperature, pulse, body weight, height, and complete appropriate health history questions.
• Record medications, allergies, pertinent lab work, pharmacy, and PCP in the EMR.
• Perform ear lavage, EKG, wound care/dressing changes, IRIS, catheterizations/bladder catheterizations, and UNNA boot application.
• Assist with Pap smear and related lab work.
• Provide patient education.
• Administer injections and manage immunizations.
• Handle prior authorizations and population health/care gap closure.
• Prepare and administer medicines via PO, intramuscular, intradermal, intravenous, or subcutaneous route as per provider order.
• Order, stock, and maintain exam rooms and clinic areas.
• Notify patients of lab results and make referrals to coordinate patient care.
• Disinfect exam rooms between patients.
• Perform delegated procedures common to the specialty area safely and effectively according to policy and procedures.
• Start, maintain, and disconnect IVs as per physician or mid-level provider order.
• Act as station floater, including communicating panic lab values, assisting with same-day requests, and desktop management for station providers and staff.
• Serve as backup for Station Supervisor.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and inform management of high-risk situations.
• Demonstrate proper cleaning of equipment and maintain licensure with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Practice infection control following OSHA guidelines and office policy.
• Maintain CPR certification and attend fire safety, clinical meetings, compliance, and continuing education classes.
• Adhere to department and office policies.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Licensure: Must be registered with NCBON and in good standing.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/HER) software.
• Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with others.

Physical Demands

• Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Involves standing and walking.
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Requires normal visual acuity and hearing.
• Requires exposure to bodily fluids.

Working Conditions

• Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Pay

$29–$42 hourly wage.
