Universal Worker

Job Purpose

Responsible for all duties in relation to safely providing for the resident’s care and well-being. Requires a responsible demeanor to build confidence in residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists with all care needs including toileting, ambulation, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, escorting, and transferring.
• Understands and reports any changes in resident alert status and condition.
• Aware of and follows the resident’s interim service plan.
• Notifies relevant parties of resident changes of condition.
• Assists in the dining room, serving meals and cleaning up after each meal period.
• Supports activities and escorts residents to scheduled appointments.
• Notifies staff of any safety issues in the resident’s apartment.
• Delivers and restocks incontinent supplies.
• Performs housekeeping duties including dusting, vacuuming, polishing, wiping down surfaces, and cleaning bathrooms.
• Maintains general cleanliness of the resident’s apartment.
• Reports to maintenance and management about incidents or errors.
• Covers for the receptionist as directed.
• Answers call lights promptly and maintains communication tools.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of some high school or equivalent courses.
• No prior experience required, on-the-job training provided.
• Active and unexpired CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Familiarity and willingness to work with elderly population.
• Previous elder care experience preferred.
