About the role

Responsible for all duties in relation to safely providing for the resident’s care and well-being. Requires a responsible demeanor to build confidence in residents.

Responsibilities

• Assists with all care needs including toileting, ambulation, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, escorting, and transferring.
• Understands and reports changes in resident alert status and condition.
• Notifies relevant parties of resident changes of condition.
• Assists in the dining room during meal times, including setup, serving, and cleaning.
• Supports activities and escorts residents to scheduled appointments.
• Delivers and restocks incontinent supplies, performs housekeeping duties, and reports safety issues.
• Assists with vital signs, assists with transfers, and covers for the receptionist.
• Answers call lights and maintains communication tools.

Requirements

• Completion of some high school or equivalent courses.
• No prior experience required, on-the-job training provided.
• Active and unexpired CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
• A familiarity and willingness to work with elderly population.
• Previous elder care experience preferred.

Skills

Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate proper techniques for various equipment and assist with care needs.
