Job Purpose
Responsible for all duties in relation to safely providing for the resident’s care and well-being. Requires a responsible demeanor to build confidence in residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists with all care needs including toileting, ambulation, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, escorting, and transferring.
- Understands and reports changes in resident alert status and condition.
- Aware of and follows the resident’s interim service plan.
- Notifies relevant parties of resident changes of condition.
- Assists in the dining room during meal times, including setup, serving, and cleaning.
- Supports activities and escorts residents to scheduled appointments.
- Notifies staff of changes in resident condition and reports incidents or errors.
- Delivers and restocks incontinent supplies and performs housekeeping duties.
- Maintains apartment cleanliness and reports safety issues.
- Answers call lights and manages communication tools.
- Maintains responsibility for pagers, keys, and radios.
Qualifications
- Completion of some high school or equivalent courses.
- CPR certification by law.
- (Preferred) High school diploma or equivalent.
- (Preferred) Certified Nursing Assistant.
- (Preferred) Familiarity and willingness to work with elderly populations.
- (Preferred) Previous elder care experience.
