Universal Worker

Duties

• Assist with daily living activities such as grooming, eating, dressing, and bathing.
• Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms/units and common areas including kitchen and laundry.
• Assist food service department including the preparation, service and clean-up of food service to residents, visitors, and staff.
• Guide, direct, and assist residents with maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• Perform healthcare-related tasks, such as monitoring vital signs and medication, under the direction of nurse (LPN or RN).
• Collect specimens, such as urine, feces, or sputum for testing using proper receptacles and following safety precautions.
• Clean and maintain all common areas including, but not limited to corridors, lounges, reception areas, restrooms, storage and supply areas, floors, offices, and chapel.
• Clean and maintain resident rooms and units as assigned and/or as vacated so that health standards are met.
• Perform a variety of tasks related to food service department including the preparation, service and clean up of food service to residents, visitors, and staff.
• Receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils in refrigerators, cupboards, and other storage areas.
• Prepare a variety of foods, such as meats, vegetables, desserts, according to resident orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures.
• Portion and wrap the food, or place it directly on plates for service to patrons.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate, General Education Degree (GED).
• Food handlers, Safe Serve certification required.
