About the Role
The Universal Worker assists residents with activities of daily living they are unable to perform without help, fostering independence and freedom of choice. This role is responsible for delivering quality service and reporting residents’ needs and concerns to a licensed nurse.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of duties to support residents with activities of daily living within non-certified or license needs, including pushing residents in wheelchairs, providing 1:1 care within the plan of care, responding to call lights, and distributing ice/water, linens, meals/snacks, or supplies.
- Supports facility departments such as Environmental Services, Activities, and Dining Services by performing light cleaning, passing meals, clearing tables, and assisting in activity programs.
- Assists in feeding residents upon completion of the required Nutritional Feeder training program.
- Travels to appointments with residents not requiring certified or licensed transport.
- Observes and reports changes in residents’ physical condition and behavior to a licensed nurse.
- Establishes rapport and communicates effectively with residents and family members.
- Creates a positive atmosphere for residents in alignment with the organization’s Core Values.
- Follows instructions, completes daily assignments, and adapts proactively to change.
- Demonstrates understanding and compassion for the elderly population.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency (preferred).
- CPR Certification (required).
- Medication Manager experience is a plus.
Additional Responsibilities
- Required to complete annual 12-hour in-service training programs, as well as supplemental online education.
- Failure to complete training or comply with internal policies, local, state, or federal laws may result in termination.
Schedule
Full-time nights, full-time, or part-time positions available. Evening shifts included.
