About the role
The role requires an enhanced knowledge in sonography/ultrasound, specific expertise and skills for maintaining a safe environment, and a basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and physics relevant to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provides imaging services and transportation to patients of all ages.
- Explains and communicates thoroughly with patients and families.
- Upholds safety standards and follows protocols and guidelines.
- Ensures adherence to JCAHO standards and uses I Care principles.
- Utilizes AIDET principles for improved patient communication and engagement.
- Collaborates with other departments and modalities to provide high-quality care.
- Maintains financial viability through good stewardship of resources.
- Understands clinical history, supply and exam charges, and follows billing practices.
- Correlates clinical history with exams and performs duties to maintain accreditation.
- Maintains a safe and clean ultrasound environment and participates in quality control.
- Communicates inventory and supply needs and assists with inventory control.
- Facilitates and coordinates services, serves as a contact person, and informs other shifts of changes.
- Works with managers, supervisors, and staff to control and maintain supplies and equipment.
- Performs duties proficiently with minimal supervision and adheres to DCH Standards.
- Ensures safety for patients, visitors, and employees and identifies and reduces unsafe practices.
- Communicates effectively using electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and intranet.
- Adheres to DCH Health System policies and procedures and fulfills graduation and registration requirements.
- Uses imaging equipment, office equipment, and related materials efficiently for good patient care and imaging exams.
- Reads, writes, speaks, and comprehends English and must fulfill graduation and registration requirements as specified.

Qualifications
Registry eligibility by ARDMS, RDMS, and RVT (RVS) certifications are required within specified timeframes. Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation and meet physical requirements.
