About the role
The role requires an enhanced knowledge in sonography/ultrasound, with specific expertise and skills for maintaining a safe environment. Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, and physics is essential.
Responsibilities
- Provides imaging services and transportation to patients of all ages.
- Explains imaging services thoroughly to patients and families.
- Ensures adherence to safety standards and follows protocols.
- Communicates effectively using I-CARE principles.
- Collaborates with other departments and personnel for comprehensive patient care.
- Maintains a clean and safe ultrasound environment.
- Maintains accreditation and performs ultrasound quality control.
- Controls and maintains inventory and supplies, reporting issues as needed.
- Trains and supervises student technologists and new employees.
Qualifications
- Registry eligible by ARDMS.
- Should obtain RDMS and RVT certifications within 24 months of eligibility.
- New hires must be RDMS and RVT certified within 12 months of hire.
- Must adhere to DCH Behavioral Standards.
- Must fulfill education requirements including CBT’s, in-services, and meetings.
- Must be proficient in specified areas with minimal supervision.
