Traveling General Superintendent - Justice

Role Summary

JE Dunn, ENR’s #2-ranked Contractor in Correctional Facilities Construction, is seeking individuals to join our traveling family building innovative, efficient, safe, and technologically advanced courthouses and corrections facilities. The Traveling General Superintendent - Justice will lead the growing portfolio of projects for JE Dunn Justice clients.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core SUPERINTENDENT FAMILY

• Leads all aspects of the company’s safety culture and creates awareness through individual actions and mentoring.
• Manages and oversees company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEO.
• Develops work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
• Captures and updates drawings, logs, diaries, and inspection notebooks.
• Communicates key project information to owners, design team, governing authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and other departments.
• Supports the MOC and DLSC procurement and approval processes.
• Manages material and equipment needs for the project.
• Supports the project closeouts by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating with the owner, architect, and governing authorities.
• Participates in project review meetings and buy-out meetings with subcontractors and vendors.
• Identifies and recruits top talent.
• Supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

• Manages the largest, most complex stand-alone and/or multiple complex projects from initial planning to completion.
• Provides management and/or oversight to multiple projects and project teams.
• Participates in the development of relevant company training content.
• Selects and develops internal subject matter experts.
• Effectively delivers leadership messages to multiple audiences both internally and externally.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).
• 12+ years construction experience.
• 10+ years field supervision experience.
• Experience leading Lean principles on projects (preferred).
• Demonstrated success in executing multiple large or complex Justice / Corrections construction projects and/or leading multiple project teams (preferred).
