Traveling General Superintendent - Justice

Role Summary

JE Dunn, ENR's #2-ranked Contractor in Correctional Facilities Construction, is seeking individuals to join our traveling family of General Superintendents. This role will lead the growth of our portfolio of projects for JE Dunn Justice clients across the United States.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core SUPERINTENDENT FAMILY

• Leads all aspects of the company’s safety culture and creates awareness through individual actions and mentoring.
• Manages safety incidents, trains staff, and re-trains as needed.
• Oversees subcontractors and organizes job and workflow.
• Manages and oversees company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEO.
• Develops and manages work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
• Coordinates and manages the project site.
• Attends and manages progress and project OAC meetings.
• Tracks and monitors project budget and costs.
• Communicates project information to owners, design teams, governing authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and other departments.
• Updates drawings, logs, diaries, and inspection notebooks.
• Manages material and equipment needs for the project.
• Supports the MOC and DLSC procurement and approval processes.
• Selects formwork, tools, and equipment for self-perform operations.
• Manages timecard approval process.
• Ensures quality compliance through specifications, setting standards, and using QA/QC and outside resources.
• Supports project closeouts by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating with the owner, architect, and governing authorities.
• Understands and applies project pursuit process and methodology.
• Participates in project pre-planning and implementation.
• Partners with field leadership to establish staffing for projects.
• Identifies and recruits top talent.
• Supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

• Manages the largest, most complex stand-alone and/or multiple complex projects.
• Provides management and/or oversight to multiple projects and project teams.
• Learns and leads company and regional key strategic initiatives.
• Develops relevant company training content.
• Selects and develops internal subject matter experts.
• Effectively delivers leadership messages to multiple audiences.

Career Path

Director of Field Operations

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (Preferred).
• 12+ years construction experience.
• 10+ years field supervision experience.
• Experience leading Lean principles on projects (Preferred).
• Demonstrated success in executing multiple large or complex Justice / Corrections construction projects and/or leading multiple project teams (Preferred).

Working Environment

A valid and unrestricted drivers license is required.
