Travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the PACU at a short-term acute care hospital in San Luis Obispo, California. Start date: 08/31/2026 for 13 weeks.
Schedule
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- 4x10-hour night shifts
Pay
Weekly pay ranges from $2,285 to $2,402.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to surgical patients in the immediate preoperative and postoperative period
- Receive and integrate handoff reports from anesthesiologists, surgeons, and circulating RNs into the care plan
- Ensure control of pain, bleeding, and nausea; secure proper patient positioning and airway management; monitor and stabilize vital signs
- Respond immediately to emergencies and life-threatening events; monitor hemodynamic status and interpret ECG rhythms
- Administer medications and IV therapies, manage indwelling catheters and drains, and operate relevant critical-care equipment safely
- Adhere to the unit’s chain of command, document accurately, and uphold patient safety and quality of care standards
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 1 year of hire
- Minimum 2 years of recent PACU or critical care experience
- Eligibility to work in the PACU setting and maintain required certifications
