Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients in the post-anesthesia recovery unit under medical staff direction, following policies and care plans
• Maintain unit-specific competencies for critically ill patients; participate in quality improvement efforts; complete clinical documentation and care plans in a timely manner
• Communicate patient information effectively during handoffs, rounds, and physician interactions to support continuity and patient safety
• Promote a safe environment by following established protocols, supporting patient safety initiatives, and contributing to Just Culture practices; escalate issues through the chain of command
• Conduct hourly rounding in collaboration with licensed nursing assistants; identify and address patient safety concerns; collaborate across departments to resolve conflicts and improve care
• Assist with procedural nursing duties as appropriate, including involvement with Flow wire, Opsens and IVUS procedures; demonstrate knowledge of contraindications and reversal for IV adenosine infusion; safely administer procedural sedation and document sedation per policy; participate in ongoing sedation competency activities

Requirements

• Active New Hampshire RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required (except for Pre-Admission Testing and Operating Room)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or obtained prior to orientation
• NHISS certification preferred or obtained prior to orientation
• 3 years of critical care experience preferred
• Graduate of an approved nursing program preferred
• Ability to work in a hospital PACU environment and meet unit requirements
