Travel Registered Nurse PACU Job

Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU, including airway, breathing, circulation, vital signs, and pain control
- Administer medications per physician orders and respond to changes in patient status with appropriate interventions
- Document assessments, care, and outcomes in the electronic health record (Epic); communicate patient status to anesthesia and surgical teams and coordinate handoffs
- Determine readiness for PACU discharge and facilitate safe transfer to inpatient units or discharge as appropriate
- Hold patient safety, infection control, and equipment safety; ensure proper use and maintenance of PACU resources
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary perioperative teams to ensure smooth, safe perioperative care and patient throughput
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of assignment (California)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current
- Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU or related perioperative nursing experience
- Epic EMR experience
- Ability to work 3x12-hour day shifts in a fast-paced PACU environment
- Willingness to participate in a travel assignment for the 8-week duration
