Responsibilities
Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group in the PACU following established standards of care and the nursing process
Collect relevant data, analyze assessments, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes; coordinate with the interprofessional team to promote safe recovery
Monitor vital signs, airway status, oxygenation, pain control, and hemodynamics; promptly recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
Provide direct patient and family education, participate in discharge planning, and ensure safe handoffs to the next care setting
Delegate appropriately, supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at various levels, and coordinate care with anesthesia, surgery, case management, and other disciplines
Document clinical information accurately in the electronic medical record and contribute to quality and safety initiatives within the unit
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from an approved vendor
- ACLS (AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS) certification
- PALS (AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS) certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience
- BSN preferred
- Epic electronic medical record experience is required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced PACU setting and meet the day shift schedule (7:00 AM–7:00 PM)
