Travel Registered Nurse PACU Job
Overview
A registered nurse position is available in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in Bangor, ME. The start date is August 31, 2026, for a 13-week travel assignment with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Day shifts are provided in a hospital setting. Weekly pay ranges from $1,968 to $2,100.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the post-anesthesia care unit under supervision of the Unit Director
- Maintain vitals, airway status, level of consciousness, pain, and recovery milestones; respond to changes promptly
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders and hospital policy; document care in the medical record
- Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams to optimize patient safety and smooth handoffs to the next care setting
- Maintain infection control standards, patient safety protocols, and accurate, timely documentation
- Prepare patients for discharge from PACU or transfer to the appropriate subsequent unit
Requirements
- Current Maine RN license or compact license
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Certifications: BLS current or within 30 days of hire; ACLS current within 90 days; PALS current within 1 year
- Experience: 1–3 years in PACU or related perioperative patient care preferred
- Education: ASN required; BSN preferred
- Ability to work in a PACU environment; strong communication skills; effective multitasking and teamwork
