Travel Registered Nurse OR Job

Travel assignment for an Operating Room Registered Nurse in Rome, New York, United States. Assignment duration: 13 weeks, starting 08/17/2026.

About the Role

You will work in a hospital operating room, providing perioperative nursing care. The assignment offers guaranteed hours of 40 per week on a 4x10-hour day shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct perioperative nursing care as a scrub or circulating OR RN, supporting surgical teams across procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique, instrument counts, and workflow to protect patient safety and prevent infection.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery; recognize and respond to intraoperative events and anesthesia needs.
• Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists, manage equipment, and ensure accurate documentation in the Paragon OR Management system.
• Communicate with patients and families as appropriate, and participate in handoffs to the postoperative team.
• Adhere to policy, patient safety protocols, and call requirements as assigned.

Requirements

• Current RN license for New York state (state of assignment).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• NIH Stroke Certification required before start.
• At least two years of recent nursing experience; OR experience preferred.
• Travel experience preferred.
• Flu vaccine or declination accepted.
• Ability to work in an OR setting; willingness to participate in call.
• Must be able to start ASAP.
• Charting experience with Paragon OR Management recommended.

Pay

Weekly pay range: $2,646–$2,782 per week.

Schedule

4x10-hour day shifts, with guaranteed 40 hours per week for the 13-week assignment.
