Travel Registered Nurse OR Job

Overview

Travel assignment in perioperative care located in Calais, Maine. Start date: 08/28/2026 for 13 weeks. Shift: Days, 40 hours per week. Work in a surgical services environment providing safe, patient-family centered perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective perioperative nursing care across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
• Scrub, circulate, and provide recovery room support as needed to support the perioperative team
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other members of the perioperative team; advocate for patient and family needs
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold the organization's mission, vision, and values
• Document patient status and interventions accurately; ensure patient safety and sterile technique throughout procedures
• Assist with instrument counts, room setup, and turnover to support efficient operations

Requirements

• Current registered nurse licensure in Maine
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for all full-time/part-time employees in PACU (may obtain within 6 months of hire)
• At least 1 year of medical/surgical or perioperative experience
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to function effectively in a perioperative setting and to scrub, circulate, and work in recovery as needed
• CNOR preferred

Education

• Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Licensure: Active Maine RN license
• Certifications: BLS required; ACLS required for PACU roles (may obtain within 6 months of hire)
