Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients for a designated shift, following the nursing process and the medical plan of care, with input from patients and significant others
- Collaborate with physicians and other health care team members to coordinate delivery of care and ensure treatment goals are met across age groups on the assigned unit
- Administer medications, monitor for adverse effects, document outcomes, and adjust care as needed within scope of practice
- Perform ongoing assessments, develop and revise nursing plans of care, and incorporate teaching and discharge planning needs into the overall plan
- Delegate appropriate tasks to nursing staff and supervise based on current clinical competence and legal scope of practice
Requirements
- Active RN license in California
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to work 3x12-hour day shifts in an inpatient/acute care setting
- Oncology nursing experience or inpatient oncology/medical-surgical experience preferred
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; eligibility to practice as a registered nurse
- Strong communication, collaboration, and patient education skills
