Travel Registered Nurse Oncology Job

Key Highlights

• Weekly pay: $2,079–$2,183 per week
• Contract duration: several weeks
• Shift: 3x12 Nights
• Start date: 07/27/2026
• Work setting: Radiation Oncology unit within a hospital
• Schedule: Block schedule, no weekends/holidays/call; orientation provided

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to adult and geriatric patients undergoing radiation oncology treatment, including IV/port access and hydration
• Support Radiation Therapy procedures, administer injections, and assist with SpacerOAR procedures as indicated
• Monitor patient status, assess for adverse effects, and respond to changes in clinical condition
• Administer medications per care plan and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team (pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response) and EPIC charting
• Prepare patients for treatment sessions, document care accurately, and participate in care coordination and discharge planning as needed

Requirements

• NY State RN license required at time of submission
• BLS certification (mandatory)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience; Radiation Oncology experience with IV/port access required
• Ability to perform Radiation Oncology procedures and related nursing duties; previous charge or leadership experience preferred
• Willingness to float within the hospital as needed within scope of practice
• HealthStream modules required prior to start; approximate 12–15 hours of RN-focused training with deadline at 7:00 AM the Wednesday prior to start
• Flu vaccine required or approved exemption; start of flu season is 12/5
