Responsibilities

• Provide direct, professional OB nursing care during night shifts, including labor and delivery support and routine postpartum care
• Assist with deliveries and newborn arrivals; perform initial newborn assessments as part of the delivery team
• Monitor fetal status and maternal vitals; respond to routine assessments and observations per protocol
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; ensure safe patient care and documentation
• Document patient information in Cerner EMR; maintain accurate, timely records
• Collaborate with obstetric and med-surg teams; float to MedSurg if census requires
• Ensure patient safety and infection control practices; participate in intra-shift handoffs and communication

Requirements

• Active KS state license or multi-state license required at submission
• Certifications required at submission: fetal monitoring, AHA NRP, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS
• OB nursing experience with delivery room responsibilities required
• Prior MedSurg experience required or strongly preferred due to occasional patient care needs on MedSurg floors
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Ability to work the night 3x12 schedule and adapt to unit needs
