Travel Registered Nurse NICU Job

About the role

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in San Luis Obispo, California, starting on 08/17/2026 for 8 weeks. The weekly pay range is $2,294 to $2,447 per week, with a shift of days and 12-hour shifts (3 per week), totaling 36 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate skilled nursing care for neonates in the NICU on assigned shifts
• Conduct care planning, administer medications, monitor physiological changes, and address psychosocial needs of neonates
• Engage in patient and family education, supporting their understanding of care plans and discharge considerations
• Supervise and delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel in line with scope of practice
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure timely updates to care plans and documentation
• Cross-train and be prepared to float to pediatric units as needed to support clinical operations

Requirements

• Active California Registered Nurse license
• NICU or neonatal care experience preferred
• Ability to work days with 12-hour shifts in an NICU environment
• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills
• Willingness to work in an inpatient NICU setting and adhere to unit policies
