Responsibilities

• Provide obstetric-focused nursing care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and recovery, including monitoring maternal and fetal status, administering medications, and coordinating care plans
• Assist with labor and delivery processes as directed, monitor labor progression, manage postpartum recovery, and support newborn care per unit protocols
• Monitor OB patients and participate in emergent situations with appropriate escalation; ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the labor and postpartum continuum
• Float to the med-surg floor when OB patient load is low, delivering consistent, high-quality care across units and maintaining appropriate documentation
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record, communicate with the care team, and participate in discharge planning and patient education

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license to practice in Iowa
• Education: a nursing degree (ADN or BSN) eligible to practice as an RN
• Experience: obstetric and/or med-surg nursing experience preferred; familiarity with labor and delivery, postpartum, or recovery workflows
• Shift: ability to work nights and comply with a schedule that includes every third weekend
• Ability to work across OB and med-surg units and participate in floating as needed
