Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job

Duration: 13 weeks
Weekly Pay: $1,889–$1,984 per week
Shift: 12-hour day shifts (0645–1915), 3x12s.
Travel assignment in a hospital setting. Orientation provided; arrival the Thursday before start is required to complete employee health clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult medical and surgical patients on Med Surg units
• Float to Medical Unit, Laulima Unit (surgical acute), and Cardiovascular Unit on rare occasions as needed
• Perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications, monitor vitals, and respond to changing patient conditions
• Implement and update care plans, document on Meditech EMR, and communicate with the interdisciplinary team
• Assist with procedures, wound care (including wound vac), chest tubes, drains, and other delegated nursing tasks
• Educate patients and families about care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up needs

Requirements

• Active Hawaii RN license by start date; travelers must apply upon acceptance if not already licensed in Hawaii
• BLS required; ACLS preferred; PALS, TNCC, ENPC preferred
• 2–10 years of med/surg RN experience
• Ability to float to other units and work in a hospital setting
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR; familiarity with wound vac and chest tubes is a plus
