Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate nursing care for medical/surgical patients, including developing and updating care plans, conducting routine assessments, and monitoring vital signs
- Administer medications and dosages within scope of practice, observe physiological responses, and communicate changes to the care team
- Address age-related physiological, emotional, and psychosocial needs across adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients on the unit
- Plan and document care, respond to clinical changes, and ensure patient safety, infection control, and adherence to policies
- Orient to supervising and delegating certain care responsibilities to ancillary personnel (such as CNAs) within their scope of practice and coordinate workflow during night shifts
- Collaborate with CNAs and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery and efficient unit operations
Requirements
- Active RN license (state not specified; travel assignments typically require licensure to practice in the assignment state)
- Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts in a hospital setting
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and care-planning skills
- Experience or ability to collaborate with CNAs and other support staff
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Adaptability to a med/surg unit environment and orientation to unit-specific protocols
