Overview Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Travel) in Sitka, Alaska, United States. Travel temporary assignment starting 09/14/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,460–$2,537 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: Flex. Setting: hospital. Key Highlights Weekly pay: $2,460–$2,537 per week Guaranteed hours: 36 per week Contract duration: 13 weeks Shift: Flex Start date: 09/14/2026 Background/fingerprint processing required; start date contingent on processing; all-inclusive rate; housing and flights not provided Responsibilities Deliver direct nursing care to patients across medical/surgical services with the ability to float to ED and ICU as needed Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care; document thoroughly; coordinate with physicians and the healthcare team Administer prescribed medications and therapies; monitor for adverse effects; manage IVs and other device needs Provide patient and family education; promote safety, infection control, and timely discharge planning Supervise and delegate to CNAs/Techs; participate in shift handoffs and interdisciplinary rounds Respond to emergencies with sound clinical judgment and appropriate escalation Requirements Active, unrestricted RN license in Alaska Graduate of an approved nursing program; high school diploma or equivalent; license verification required BLS on hire; ACLS and PALS on hire; TNCC/ATCN and NRP certifications may be required depending on unit and must be obtained within the first 6 months and renewed bi-annually Minimum of 1 year clinical nursing experience preferred; med/surg experience strongly preferred Ability to float among Med/Surg, ED and ICU; ability to work both Day and Night shifts as needed Must have/obtain influenza vaccination Benefits and Support Guaranteed hours 24/7 recruiter and travel support Extension opportunities Dedicated assignment support All-inclusive pay rate; housing and flight arrangements are not provided Find more opportunities If you’re interested in additional travel nursing openings, please visit https://healthforce.applytojob.com/apply to view other current opportunities from Healthforce Healthcare LLC.
