Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Hanford, CA, United States

Start date: 08/17/2026

Contract duration: 8 weeks

Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:00)

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care for adults in a Med Surg unit using the nursing process
• Collect, assess, and document relevant patient data; identify care needs and priorities
• Develop and implement individualized care plans; coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary team
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor responses, and adjust care as needed
• Ensure patient safety and comfort; participate in discharge planning and continuity of care
• Educate patients and families; supervise and delegate tasks to nursing staff; maintain accurate charting in the patient record

Requirements

• Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California required)
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification from an approved vendor (per policy) is required; facility policy requires BLS
• Experience: At least two years of recent experience in the field; acute care/Med Surg experience preferred
• Education: BSN preferred
• Systems: Proficiency with electronic health records; for backfill duties, experience with EPIC and Cerner is required
• Additional: Ability to work in a fast-paced Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting and participate in daily patient care activities in Med Surg

This is a travel - temporary assignment.

Pay

• Weekly pay range: $1,892-$2,007 per week
