Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Overview
This 13-week travel assignment starts on 08/10/2026. Weekly pay ranges from $1,719 to $1,812, with no guaranteed hours. The assignment is in a hospital setting, on a floor that is primarily surgical with some medical overlap to meet patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Med Surg patients, primarily in a surgical cohort with some medical overlap
- Maintain patient status, perform assessments, administer medications as ordered, and document changes
- Collaborate with a shift supervisor and patient care techs to coordinate care and manage bed availability
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and accurate charting using the unit’s processes
- Support effective handoffs during shift changes and communicate with the broader care team
- Educate patients and families as appropriate and respond promptly to changes in condition
Requirements
- Ability to work nights on a hospital Med Surg/surgical unit with a 1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Experience on a Med Surg floor with surgical patients and medical overlap is preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with the shift supervisor and patient care techs
- Comfortable with the unit environment, documentation, and standard hospital procedures
- Adaptability to beds-driven patient loads and dynamic unit needs
