Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
About the role
Registered Nurse – Med Surg, Travel assignment in Lincoln, Maine. Start date 08/16/2026 for a 13-week contract. Guaranteed 36 hours per week with a 3x12-hour day shift. Hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments; identify priorities and develop/implement plans of care per physician orders
- Administer medications and therapies, using the five rights and med verification; monitor patient responses and adjust care as needed
- Communicate patient status and changes to the health care team; participate in MDT meetings and bedside rounds; document care in accordance with standards
- Provide patient and family education; coordinate discharge planning and follow-up calls as indicated
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment; ensure supplies and equipment are readily available and functioning; report safety concerns promptly
- Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in hospital-wide programs; contribute to disaster/emergency planning and drills as required
Requirements
- Active Maine RN license or compact state license; BSN preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Immunizations: Varicella (2 doses or titer), HepB (3 doses or titer or declination; declination allowed only for HepB), MMR (2 doses or titer), Tdap, PPD 2-step or titer within past 12 months; Flu shot required during flu season
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities; effective verbal and written communication; knowledge of nursing assessment and care for all age groups
- Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, reach, balance, and lift up to 30 lbs; ability to push patients in wheelchairs and stretchers; adequate visual and hearing acuity for patient care
- Willingness to work in a hospital setting and comply with relevant policies, procedures, and emergency planning requirements

Pay
Weekly pay: $1,921 to $2,008 per week. Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary. Final compensation packages and confirmed hours will be discussed during the hiring process.
