Responsibilities

  • Provide direct bedside nursing care for adult medical-surgical patients, including assessments, care planning, and implementation of interventions for conditions such as CHF, COPD, syncope, non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction, DKA, wound issues, and postoperative patients (e.g., THR, TKR, lumbar or general surgery) as well as COVID-19 cases
  • Administer prescribed medications and IV therapies, monitor for adverse effects, manage pain, and perform standard wound and wound-care procedures
  • Maintain a safe care environment by adhering to infection control practices, fall precautions, and other patient safety protocols; support transition of care planning and discharge readiness
  • Document care accurately in the EMR system (Sorian) and ensure timely communication with physicians, case managers, and families
  • Adhere to the unit’s RN-to-patient workload expectations (RN ratio around 7:1, may occasionally be 8:1) and participate in routine rounds and handoffs

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in New York
  • 2+ years of med-surg nursing experience
  • Travel experience required
  • BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
  • Ability to work the night shift in a hospital-med-surg setting
  • Proficiency with the Sorian EMR system or willingness to learn

Pay

Weekly pay range: $2,145–$2,203 per week
