Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to obstetric patients in L&D, including labor support, monitoring, medication administration, and comfort measures
  • Assist with labor and delivery procedures and provide couplet care across the L&D environment, including OR, PACU, and postpartum as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record
  • Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer prescribed medications, manage emergencies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in rounds, handoffs, and care planning
  • Assume RN charge duties when assigned, coordinating team activities, supervising staff, and ensuring patient safety and quality care
  • Provide newborn care for babies 32 weeks gestation and up; support breastfeeding, newborn assessments, and transition to postpartum flow as part of the care team

Requirements

  • Active Colorado RN license or compact license to practice in Colorado
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
  • NRP and STABLE certifications
  • RN Charge experience required
  • Experience in L&D with OR, PACU, and postpartum care
  • Ability to provide couplet care
  • Capable of caring for babies 32 weeks gestation and older
  • Flu vaccine required or documented plan to obtain by 10/31/25

Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary. Final compensation packages and confirmed hours will be discussed during the hiring process.

Benefits and Support

Weekly pay: $2,617–$2,825 per week

Guaranteed hours: 36 per week

Contract duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 12-hour night shifts with rotating weekends and call rotation

Setting: Hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit with OR, PACU, and postpartum capabilities

Travel eligibility: must reside at least 75 miles away from the facility
