Short Term Acute Care Hospital (acute care unit)
Responsibilities
- Provide unit-based leadership in the development and provision of clinical services
- Supervise and direct unit personnel to ensure safe, cost-effective, high-quality patient care
- Initiate and coordinate individual and team conferences with health care team members, patients, and families to develop and revise care plans
- Direct and monitor staff performance in patient care activities to ensure adequate care quality and patient safety
- Participate in patient care as needed and make rounds to assess care needs and introduce yourself to patients and families
- Foster an environment of patient- and family-centered care with attention to cultural diversity and individual needs; solicit feedback on nursing services and address concerns
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience; Master’s Degree preferred
- Licenses/ Certifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and PALS (AHA/ARC) required
- Experience: At least two years of recent RN experience in the field; supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills required
