Travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the CCU at a hospital in Pennington, NJ. Start date 08/24/2026 for an 8-week contract.
About the role
This float pool assignment involves a primary unit while maintaining flexibility to float to other units as needed within a hospital setting. The role requires strong critical care skills and the ability to adapt to varying patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for critically ill adults in CCU/ICU, including monitoring hemodynamics and ventilator status; respond to clinical changes promptly
- Perform ongoing assessments, administer medications and therapies, manage lines and tubes, and support life-sustaining interventions as ordered
- Collaborate with physicians, bedside nurses, and ancillary teams; document care and patient status in Cerner EMR; ensure accurate and timely handoffs
- Recognize and respond to emergencies, implement BLS and ACLS protocols, and uphold patient safety and infection control standards
- Float to other units as needed; adjust priorities to ensure patient coverage and seamless transitions between units
- Adhere to unit guidelines, hospital policies, and evidence-based practice while maintaining professional communication and teamwork
Requirements
- Active RN license in New Jersey or a compact license accepted for submission
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH (per job notes)
- 2+ years of current ICU and MST experience
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Ability to work in a floating pool and cover multiple units as needed
- Flexible to work around holes in the schedule; no block scheduling or special accommodations
Pay
Weekly pay ranges from $1,986 to $2,125 with guaranteed hours of 36 per week.
Schedule
Night shift, three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
