Responsibilities

Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients using the nursing process and established standards
Collect relevant data, analyze assessment information, and develop a care plan with prescribed interventions
Implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, and promote a safe, healing environment; monitor progress toward outcomes
Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at various levels; delegate appropriately and coordinate with other disciplines
Collaborate with patients, families, and the health care team; participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care
Provide patient and family education and direct health information to the treatment team; participate in rounds and handoffs as needed
