About the Role

A Stepdown Registered Nurse provides specialized care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical units, requiring vigilant monitoring and complex interventions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data, responding to abnormalities.
• Administer medications and treatments, assist with cardiac procedures, and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Observe, document, and report patient conditions, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive care.
• Educate patients on cardiac health, risks, and lifestyle modifications.
• Maintain confidentiality, adhere to safety protocols, infection control, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of recent Stepdown RN experience.
• Valid RN license in accordance with state regulations.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PCCN and NIHSS certifications preferred.
• Critical thinking, strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to move equipment and assist with procedures.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, maintain attention to detail, and communicate effectively.
