About the Role
The Stepdown RN provides specialized care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical units, requiring close monitoring and complex interventions.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions and interpret cardiac rhythms
- Administer medications and prepare equipment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care
- Monitor telemetry data and respond to emergencies
- Document assessments and patient progress
- Educate patients on cardiac health and lifestyle modifications
Requirements
- At least one year of recent experience as an RN
- Valid RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proficiency in PC skills
- Physical ability to move equipment and assist patients
- Visual acuity for monitoring and assessment
Qualifications
- Preferred certifications: PCCN, NIHSS
