About the Role
A Stepdown RN provides specialized care to patients transitioning from intensive care to general inpatient units, requiring close monitoring and complex interventions.
Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities.
- Administer medications and treatments, assist with cardiac procedures, and ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Observe, document, and communicate patient status, responding to emergencies as needed.
- Educate patients on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory protocols.
Requirements
- One year of recent Stepdown RN experience.
- Valid RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications; PCCN and NIHSS preferred.
- Critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to move equipment and assist patients.
- Ability to work under pressure, follow instructions, and maintain confidentiality.
