About the Role
A Stepdown RN provides specialized care to patients transitioning from intensive care to general units, requiring close monitoring and complex interventions.
Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs
- Administer medications
- Assist with cardiac procedures
- Ensure patient safety and comfort
- Document assessments
- Respond to emergencies
- Educate patients on cardiac health
- Collaborate with healthcare teams
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols
- Interpret telemetry data
- Manage complex patient needs
- Support diagnostic procedures
- Maintain documentation
- Participate in a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care
Requirements
- At least one year of recent Stepdown RN experience
- Valid RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Preferred certifications: PCCN and NIHSS
