About the role
This position is for a Travel ICU Charge Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at our Lewiston, Maine location. Shifts are available during both days and nights.
Responsibilities
- Oversees ICU operations and nursing staff during shifts
- Manages staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments
- Supervises, mentors, and supports staff performance and development
- Assists with performance management and HR activities
- Monitors supplies, equipment, and unit readiness
- Coordinates patient care, admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Addresses patient care concerns and escalates issues appropriately
- Rounds with patients and families to ensure a positive experience
- Provides direct patient care as needed to ensure safety and quality
- Ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Requirements
- Valid state RN License
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- At least one year as a staff nurse in an acute care or ER setting
- Previous supervisory experience in an ICU or acute care environment (1-2 years)
Pay
Up to $1,491–$2,067 gross per week, with an additional $3/hour differential.
