About the Role
Oversees Emergency Department operations and nursing staff during shifts, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manages staffing, scheduling, patient assignments, and unit readiness.
- Supervises and supports staff development, addresses patient care concerns, and escalates issues as needed.
- Coordinates patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Conducts patient and family rounds to promote positive experiences.
- Provides direct patient care when necessary to maintain safe staffing levels.
Requirements
- Valid state RN License.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital, ED setting.
- Previous supervisory experience.
