- Oversees ED operations and nursing staff during shifts, ensuring safe, quality patient care and compliance
- Manages staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments
- Supervises, coaches, and supports staff development
- Assists with performance management and HR activities
- Monitors supplies, equipment, and unit readiness
- Coordinates patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Addresses patient care concerns and escalates issues
- Rounds with patients and families to enhance their experience
- Provides direct patient care as needed to maintain safe staffing levels
Qualifications
- Valid RN license and current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital, emergency department experience required
- Previous supervisory experience required
