Travel Critical Care Registered Nurse

About the role

An experienced ICU nurse responsible for providing critical care to adult transplant patients across various units within a hospital system. The role involves floating to multiple units, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Cardiology, CVICU, and SICU, adapting to patient acuity and staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized critical care to adult transplant patients, including kidney, liver, lung, and heart transplants.
• Perform IV starts, ventilator management, and telemetry monitoring.
• Float between units as needed, maintaining flexibility to meet unit demands.
• Complete labs within 48 hours of assignment start.
• Participate in weekend shifts with flexibility for additional coverage.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years ICU experience, preferably in a teaching hospital setting.
• Critical care float pool experience preferred, with Epic EMR proficiency.
• Current Ohio or compact license required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Experience with ventilators, telemetry, and IV starts necessary.
• References covering at least 1 full year of relevant experience within the past 3 years.
• Valid ACEN or CCNE-accredited education.
• Ability to complete required pre-employment modules and upload certifications.
• Must provide proof of identification and references from recent supervisors.

Schedule

• Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each.
• Contract must extend through January 2, 2027, with up to 14 days off allowed.
