Travel Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse - $2,770 per week

Job Summary

The intensive care unit cardiovascular (ICU OH) nurse position is located in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves caring for post open heart surgical patients, including those with complex cardiovascular conditions such as CABG, valve surgeries, vascular procedures, STEMI, cardiogenic shock, and post-transplantation cases. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced ICU environment, utilizing advanced intervention equipment and managing ventilated patients.

Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), minimum of 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of 2 years of cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) experience
• CURRENT license to practice
• Able to interpret electrocardiogram strips and manage complex cardiac patient needs

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification
• Experience with VAD and transplant patients

Additional Information

• The unit has 20 private beds monitored with nurse-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 2:1 depending on patient acuity.
• The environment requires proficiency with cardiovascular intervention equipment such as IABPs, Impellas, Swan-Ganz catheters, ECMO, external pacemakers, and CRRT lines.
• Nurses are expected to manage multiple drips, vent management, and interpret Philips monitoring strips.
• Staffing includes charge nurses and house supervisors 24/7, with respiratory therapists and physician providers available at all times.
• Floating to different levels of care may be required, and team coverage includes PCTs and advanced practice providers.

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
