Transportation Supervisor - Full Time

About the Role

Supervises delivery operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, government regulations, and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily delivery activities, including safety, staffing, scheduling, asset utilization, and customer relations.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements (DOT, OSHA) and oversees safety inspections.
• Implements efficiency and cost-saving measures to optimize operations.
• Coordinates with sales and marketing teams to resolve delivery issues and visits customer locations as needed.
• Maintains communication with associates to promote engagement and morale.
• Collaborates with safety teams on training, incident investigations, and safety inspections.
• Executes staff management functions, including hiring, discipline, and performance reviews.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Certifications such as defensive driving and HazMat are advantageous.
• Valid Class A CDL is preferred.

Skills

• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient in computer software and knowledgeable of safety regulations.
• Capable of interpreting policies and instructions.
• Physical ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds and work in varied environments.

Work Environment

• Moderate noise levels and possible exposure to extreme conditions.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Non-traditional hours may be necessary to support delivery operations.
