Transportation Supervisor - Full Time

Job Summary This Operations role involves supervising delivery activities, managing delivery staff, ensuring compliance with safety and government regulations, and maintaining security within the department. Responsibilities Oversees daily work, safety, and customer service quality of Delivery Associates.Ensures regulatory compliance (e.g., DOT, OSHA), maintains accurate electronic logs.Manages labor hours, supplies, and prepares work schedules.Utilizes company assets efficiently, arranges repairs, and reviews productivity reports.Implements efficiency and cost-saving measures, enforces company policies on safety and operations.Collaborates with sales and marketing teams to resolve delivery issues, visits customer sites.Maintains communication with associates, monitors morale, and encourages engagement.Coordinates safety training, conducts safety inspections, and participates in accident investigations.Handles staff recruitment, performance evaluations, discipline, and terminations as needed.Performs related duties, including stepping into associate roles when necessary. Qualifications High school diploma or GED; college degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred.1-3 years related experience or training.Valid Class A CDL and completion of defensive driving; HazMat certification preferred. Skills & Abilities Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of federal safety regulations, ability to interpret policies, and manage stressful situations.Proficient in computer software, including spreadsheets and word processing.Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. Physical & Working Conditions Requires physical activity such as standing, walking, lifting up to 100 pounds, and working in various environments.May encounter hot, cold, humid conditions, mechanical hazards, and airborne particles.Works non-traditional hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.Occasional travel to other sites or offices may be necessary. The role demands adaptability, adherence to safety standards, and effective team management to ensure smooth delivery operations.
