Responsibilities

  • Hands-on involvement in the design process and project advancement including setting priorities and developing objectives.
  • Serve as a technical resource for a multi-disciplined team.
  • Design opportunities will generally include: Highway and Roadway Plans, Specifications and Estimates, Sewer Plans, Specifications and Estimates, Project Permitting, Project Reports.
  • Mentor Junior Engineers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of practical design experience in transportation engineering, highway design, and local street design.
  • Knowledge of MnDOT design and standards.
  • PE license in MN required.
  • Project Management experience with the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
  • Experience in business development and project development processes, including marketing activities, client development, project tracking and proposal development (a plus).
  • Good communication skills and a proven track record in successfully interacting with clients and internal team members is necessary.
  • Experience mentoring staff.
  • Knowledge of MicroStation and Open Roads Designer is an advantage.
