Transit Ambassador

About the role

The City of Laguna Beach is seeking a motivated Transit Ambassador for the Summer Season. This part-time position reports to the Transit Supervisor and assists passengers with trolley operations, providing information about the City and events.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions and provide general information to the public regarding festivals, local interests, restaurants, shops, trolley routes and schedules, and related information.
• Provide parking lot assistance with pay stations, and keep parking lots clean.
• Safely lift and carry equipment needed to set up daily operations.

Qualifications

• Any combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of the position is considered qualifying.
• Aged 16 or older by the time of hire.
• Under 18 years old must have a valid Work Permit.
• Prior public contact work experience is desirable.

Benefits

• Basic pay ranges from five to eight steps.
• Overtime pay at a rate of time and a half for hours worked beyond 40 in a week.
• Retirement through the Public Agency Retirement System (PARS).
• 40 hours of sick leave annually, starting in July.
