Transactional Business & Litigation Attorney (0-3 Years Experience)

About The Role
The Transactional Business & Litigation Attorney will serve a dual role, empowering small businesses and established entities (including auto dealerships) through critical transactional stages while managing an entry-level litigation docket. This is a hands-on position designed for an attorney looking to quickly develop practical, well-rounded skills in a collaborative, supportive, and "Technodexterous" environment.
Responsibilities
- Transactional & General Counsel Support
- Contract Lifecycle Management: Draft, review, and negotiate various business agreements, including vendor contracts, software agreements (SaaS), non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), finance agreements, and operating agreements.
- Entity Formation & Structuring: Guide clients through the formation of new businesses (LLCs, Corporations) and draft related organizational documents.
- General Counsel Advice: Assist senior attorneys in providing practical general counsel advice to small businesses and auto dealerships on daily operational, regulatory, and compliance matters.
- Litigation & Dispute Resolution
- Discovery Management: Execute document review related to litigation matters, including identifying, reviewing, and organizing relevant documents for production and privilege logs.
- Docket Management: Handle a targeted docket of small claims and non-contested collections actions for business clients.
- Pleadings & Court Filings: Draft and file initial pleadings, appearances, and motions in state court for assigned matters.
- Settlement & Negotiation: Facilitate pre-suit negotiations and settlement agreements to resolve client disputes efficiently.
- Technology Utilization: Embrace and utilize the firm’s legal technology and digital filing systems to ensure efficient and modern service delivery.
- Research: Research key issues and identify relevant statutes, case law, and regulations using traditional and AI legal databases.
- Client Management: Manage client relationships, communicate complex legal concepts in plain language, and maintain the firm’s commitment to transparent, client-centered service.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Ohio with eligibility to be admitted to the Ohio Bar promptly (licensure in MI, PA, or NE is a plus).
- 0-3 years of experience.
- Prior Legal Experience: Candidates must have completed at a minimum one internship, externship, or clinical placement at a business law firm, litigation firm, or relevant non-profit organization.

Pay
This position starts at $70,000, with the potential for a bonus once you generate 3x your salary in revenue. We utilize flat fee, contingency fee, and hourly billing, focusing on revenue-based goals rather than minimum hours.
Schedule
Initial in-office training in Columbus, OH is required. After the training period, the position offers flexibility for a hybrid or fully remote work arrangement.
